Ex-Marine Logan searches for the woman whom he thinks saved his life. Trouble is, he only has a photograph and first initial.

Is there such a thing as a lucky charm? Logan Thibault thinks so, after finding a photograph of a smiling woman he has never met in the desert sand of the Middle East. He brings the photo back to his base camp and, when no one claims it, finds himself keeping it and carrying it everywhere he goes. The photo brings a sudden streak of luck -- he wins poker games and survives deadly attacks that leave two of his fellow Marines dead. His Marine buddy and best friend Victor claims that the photo is a lucky charm that has repeatedly saved his life.

A Lucky Charm?

Back home in Colorado, Logan can’t stop thinking about the woman in the photograph and whether or not she really is his lucky charm. Using clues he deciphered from the photo, he decides to set out on foot to find her, walking from Colorado to North Carolina, where he hopes to meet the woman behind his fate.

Finding His True Love

He finds her in Hampton, North Carolina, and learns that she is a second grade school teacher and divorced mother of a ten year old. He takes a job at the dog training facility and kennel her aging grand mother runs and gets to know Elizabeth. They soon fall in love and Logan, consumed by the relationship and his surprisingly strong feelings, keeps the photo a secret – until its luck is needed for Elizabeth’s son, who finds himself in a dangerous and deadly situation.

Elizabeth's ex husband, Hampton Deputy Sheriff Keith Clayton complicates the situation, trying to break up the happy couple by manipulating each of them. He makes up false information about Logan and tries to convince Elizabeth that he's trouble -- and that she should get back together with him instead.

Each chapter is told by a different character in the book, building up to a breath taking climax and satisfying epilogue.
