While in San Jose, she met her future husband Frank Krentz. The couple later moved to Seattle, Washington where Jayne and her husband continue to reside. She began writing romance novels when she worked in the Duke University library system, and achieved publication in 1979. Since then Jayne has penned numerous novels under several pen names, such as Stephanie James and Amanda Glass. Her novels have been published under the Harlequin and Silhouette imprints in addition to other houses such as Penguin and Bantam publishing groups. Currently, Jayne Ann Krentz writes under the pseudonyms Jayne Castle and Amanda Quick. Each author persona creates stories of contemporary, futuristic, and historical romance.
